CCH Special Programs CCH carries on several Special Programs which add greatly to the life of the orphanage, by teaching children how to be creative, lively, thoughtful, and responsible in their approach to life. Among these programs are the CCH Road Show, the CCH Libraries, the Photo Journalist group, and CCH artists. CCH Road Show The Road Show is a remarkable weekly effort (every Sunday) by CCH older children and some staff members (between 30 and 40 participants) who travel to poor villages within driving distance of Phnom Penh to perform original dramas highlighting Cambodian social problems such as trafficking, domestic abuse, and drug abuse. The treatment of these themes is entertaining, but the message is very serious indeed. In addition, CCH kids in the Road Show bring books to read to poor village children, play games with them, do art work and origami, quiz them to make sure they understand the serious messages in the drama, and hand out small treats. This production requires excellent relationships between CCH and many villages, a high degree of coordination by CCH staff, and lots of enthusiasm by the CCH performers. Their show is undoubtedly a high point for poor village children who otherwise have very little excitement or mental stimulation in their lives. The Road Show expresses CCH's commitment to the larger Cambodian society.

CCH Libraries Since education is such a central value taught at CCH, libraries have been set up to encourage habits of lifelong learning. There are two libraries, one at the CCH 1 facility, and the other at CDCC (the CCH International School campus). They are administered by a small group of student librarians who make sure that all books are well used and returned to the shelves. In general, the libraries are open at least once a day, and sometimes twice, during weekdays.

CCH Photo Journalists Some older CCH students have received training in photography, and have experienced such success with their efforts, that their photos have been displayed publicly. After that, a small core of photographers has worked to take photos depicting life at CCH and in other places in Cambodia. The work of the CCH Photo Journalists appears regularly in the CCH Monthly Report, and some of their work appears on this website.
